Jeff Bezos knows how to market philanthropy. Today, “the richest person on the plant” launched the Bezos Day One Fund. The foundation, and it’s $2 billion seed funding, is two-tiered in its efforts. One fund will be focused on homeless families while the other will launch a group of Montessori-inspired preschools in low-income areas.

Beyond the altruistic intent to support multiple causes, Bezos’s strategy will appeal to a plethora of target audiences (including, but not limited to, Amazon users). With one stroke of the pen, Bezos boosted both his personal brand and corporate image. Kudos, Mr. Bezos.
